Goal | Guide the re-visioning, design, and interpretation of all experiences in a history and contemporary art museum comprised of two historic buildings.
The Jewish Museum of Florida - FIU is dedicated to telling the story of more than 250 years of Florida Jewish history, arts and culture, with a growing collection of more than 100,000 items. It is located in the trendy SoFi area of South Beach at 301 Washington Avenue. The Museum is housed in two restored historic buildings that were once synagogues for Miami Beach's first Jewish congregation..
In 2019, the museum embarked on an 18-month master-planning project to significantly update the visitor experience and interpretation of its core exhibition, as well as refine parallel programing its various galleries.
I am working with the museum's seniors staff to guide space planning and design, and re-conceptualization of the museum's core exhibition, MOSAIC, which was originally mounted in the 1990s. The final plan and interpretation will better and more authentically present the museum's historic structures while, simultaneously, improving spaces for programming and future exhibitions.
